Our hotel is in the heart of Paris, in the golden triangle on the Left Bank in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Between the Seine and the Luxembourg garden, between the Raspail and Saint-Michel boulevards, this is the heart of Paris. Designer boutiques, restaurants, and cafés are everywhere you look on rue Mabillon and the Carrefour de l’Odéon.
Not far from the Luxembourg garden and Odéon, our hotel lies in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Latin quarter and not far from the universities that give the quarter its name, its history and its upbeat feeling.
A stone’s throw from the Hôtel de Fleurie, the arcades of the Saint-Germain market provide the ideal place to wander and shop. Further south lies the Luxembourg garden, its fountains and the famous miniature toy boats, the treelined paths. A little further still, and you will arrive at rue Saint-Sulpice and the square of the same name, with its quaint little bookshops.
Heading back up rue Grégoire de Tours and Boulevard Saint-Germain, and on the left you’ll find the famous existential Café de Flore, Les Deux Magots, and la Rhumerie once frequented by Gréco, Beauvoir, Sartre, Hemingway, and Vian. Stroll down rue de Seine, and you’ll find galleries along your way down to the Seine. Along the river, the Bateaux Mouche barges, the book sellers, Notre-Dame Cathedral and its famous gargoyles, the venerable Académie Française, and the mansions on Ile Saint-Louis. Turn right to wander down Boulevard Saint Michel with its designer boutiques until you reach the square and the monumental fountain. In rue du Chat qui Pèche (the narrowest road in Paris, you will find the famous jazz club the “Caveau de la Huchette”, as well as the neighbouring Théâtre Ionesco. The area is also famous for its arthouse cinemas, bookshops and of course souvenir shops.
Heading back up Saint-Michel, on the left the Sainte-Geneviève mountain, followed by the prestigious Sorbonne University, the Pantheon where the famous women and men of France are laid to rest. The choices are endless. You’re in the centre of Paris. Enjoy yourself!
